Quzhou's Kecheng district performs well in culture, tourism integration
Kecheng district in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, was recently selected as one of the top 10 counties, cities, or districts for culture and tourism integration in Zhejiang province in 2022.
Kecheng has created three platforms: the Yudong Rural Artistic Culture and Tourism Complex, the Miaoyuan Rural Intangible Cultural Heritage and Tourism Complex, and the Lingjiu Mountain Rural Sports Culture and Tourism Complex, which have helped Kecheng stimulate the development of rural industries and promote common prosperity.
The Yudong Rural Artistic Culture and Tourism Complex has become an important trading center for regional cultural and creative products. Farmer paintings have helped Yudong achieve a leap from selling paintings to selling cultural and creative products, copyrights, and developing tourism.
The Miaoyuan Rural Intangible Cultural Heritage and Tourism Complex relies on the resources of Jiuhua Miaoyuan village to revitalize idle rural assets and develop the homestay industry. The complex also helps villagers develop agricultural products such as bamboo shoots, rice cakes, tea leaves and honey, stimulating tourist consumption.
Due to a number of sports-related developments in Lingjiu Mountain, the sports industry is booming in the northern part of Kecheng district.
Statistics showed that in 2022, the added value of Kecheng's tourism industry was 3.99 billion yuan ($561 million), with a growth rate of 3.35 percent, accounting for 6.14 percent of GDP.
