Quzhou sees booming cross-border e-commerce
In recent years, Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province has been developing cross-border e-commerce, with more than 1,000 related entities and three provincial-level cross-border e-commerce industrial parks built.
Four provincial-level cross-border e-commerce industrial clusters have also been created in the city.
Quzhou Keluosi Outdoor Products Co Ltd now receives nearly 1,000 orders from overseas every day due to the increasing popularity of camping.
"This year, sales of camping products have increased by 30 percent year-on-year through overseas online platforms such as Amazon and Walmart," said Zhu Kaijie, a higher-up at the company.
The company has in recent years explored cross-border e-commerce and sold tents to the United States, Britain, Germany and Japan, with an annual output value of nearly 10 million yuan ($1.39 million).
"The overseas outdoor product market has always been relatively mature and there are many types of products. But our products are of good quality and have attractive designs. The price of our camping tents is usually half of those of equal quality produced by large foreign big brands," said Zhu.
The company used to sell only camping tents, but over the past two years it has expanded to multiple products, such as air cushions, sleeping bags, tables, chairs and lamps.
In addition, for different target groups in different countries, the company has conducted in-depth research on product quality, weight and storage methods.
