Fusion of Culture and Sports | Quzhou sparkling elements ready to shine at Asian Games

The Chinese Badminton Association announced the list of 20 athletes participating in the 19th Asian Games on July 5, including four Zhejiang players, namely Huang Yaqiong, Zheng Siwei, Chen Yufei and Wang Chang.

Huang, a Quzhou native, is stepping up preparations with Zheng and they plan to give it their all on the highest competitive stage in Asia.

Huang and Zheng won the 2023 BWF Sudirman Cup on May 21. At the Indonesia Open badminton tournament mixed doubles final in June, they defeated a Japanese pair to win the mixed doubles championship.

The badminton competition of the Hangzhou Asian Games will be held at the Binjiang Gymnasium and will produce seven gold medals.

In addition to Huang, another athlete from Quzhou's Changshan county, Yu Yiting, is one of nine Zhejiang athletes selected for the Hangzhou Asian Games swimming team, which was announced on June 30.

The 18-year-old has performed well in a number of major competitions and even broke the national record for the women's 100m individual medley.

On July 6, Sanquwei, a popular food brand in Quzhou, signed a supply agreement with Hangzhou Asian Games procurement merchants, and in April 2022, it became an official supplier of the Hangzhou Asian Games and Paralympic Games.
