Quzhou village develops rural tourism
The homestay business has been booming in Chaping village, Huangtankou township, Qujiang district, Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province since April.
On weekends, all eight rooms are fully booked, said Lai Shengjun, the owner of Yuyin Chaping Homestay in Huangtankou township. The homestay's revenue from January to June totaled 300,000 yuan ($41,594).
Chaping village is located within the Ziweishan National Forest Park and Ziwei Xinggu Scenic Area, a national 3A-level scenic spot. It is a typical mountain village with beautiful scenery and many attractions.
In recent years, Chaping Village has invested 13 million yuan to build a homestay complex.
According to Lai, there are a total of 15 homestays in the village with more than 200 beds.
In summer, tourists from Hangzhou, Shanghai and Quzhou come to the village to avoid the heat and enjoy the sight of a vast bamboo sea, visit ancient Shuangfeng Temple, Laofo Rock and Lailixian Cave, and experience Yaowang Mountain rafting.
Yaowang Mountain rafting is really popular in summer. An average of more than 500 tourists come to Yaowang Mountain to go rafting every day.
In order to provide supporting services for rafting, 10 small wooden houses were set up at the rafting point. Five of them were rented out to villagers to sell mobile phone waterproof covers, swimming trunks, water guns, drinking water, and ice cream.
This year, Liao Aidong's mobile phone waterproof cover and swimming trunks business is in a good stage. After the peak season for rafting, Liao expects to earn about 300,000 yuan.
