The opening ceremony of the 4th Asian Para Games was held at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on Oct 22.

The Kaihua straw-made dragon dance team from Quzhou gave a performance at the opening ceremony.

The performance, called Strength, featured nine dragons from different places in Zhejiang province, including Kaihua straw-made dragons, showing various movements.

The Kaihua straw-made dragon dance team, formed by 13 Kaihua officers, had been training hard since June to prepare for the show.

The Kaihua straw-made dragon dance originated in Suzhuang town in Kaihua county and has a history of 1,100 years. It is a traditional custom for celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Every Mid-Autumn Festival, people will perform the Kaihua straw-made dragon dance around the village and visit households, praying for a good harvest and auspiciousness.
