Quzhou in Zhejiang province launched 23 major projects with a combined investment of 48.16 billion yuan ($.69 billion) on Feb 18.

Among them, 14 projects, amounting to a total investment of 33.39 billion yuan, have commenced construction, while nine projects, with a combined investment of 14.47 billion yuan, were put into operation on the same day.

A significant undertaking among these endeavors is the establishment of a silicon carbon negative electrode materials and high-purity silane products facility, funded by Zhejiang Zhongning Silicon Industry Co.

The facility, which will cost 5.28 billion yuan to build, will construct a variety of facilities including hazardous waste warehouses, Class-A warehouses, silane workshops, trifluoromethane facilities, boron trichloride facilities, and silicon carbide facilities.

The facility is expected to achieve an annual production capacity of 40,000 metric tons of silicon carbon negative electrode materials, achieving an operating income of 11 billion yuan, a profit and tax of 1.8 billion yuan, and creating 228 new jobs.
