Quzhou sees robust growth in tourism sector over Spring Festival holiday

Quzhou in Zhejiang province experienced a significant surge in its tourism industry during the eight-day Spring Festival holiday, with over 1.72 million tourists visiting, marking a 26.22 percent increase compared to the previous year, according to local authorities.

The tourism revenue amounted to 1.75 billion yuan ($243.17 million), with ticket sales of key scenic spots reaching 14.17 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 116 percent.

The most popular destinations included Quzhou Ancient Town scenic area, Jianglang Mountain scenic area, and Kaihua Buddhist Cultural Tourism Area, which collectively attracted 831,600 visitors.

Notably, the city's star-rated hotel room occupancy rate reached 67.19 percent, while the occupancy rate for homestays was 59.73 percent.

Quzhou hosted 1,005 cultural activities, showcasing its folk customs, intangible cultural heritage, and local delicacies, including 690 art performances, 523 of which were held in rural areas.

As a result, rural tourism also witnessed a remarkable rise, welcoming more than 1.01 million tourists.
