Quzhou legislature's annual meeting commences

The fourth session of the eighth Quzhou Municipal People's Congress commenced in Quzhou, Zhejiang province on Feb 27.
Xu Zhangyan, mayor of Quzhou, presented the government work report, highlighting the city's substantial advancements in meeting the objectives outlined during the third session of the eighth Municipal People's Congress.
Notably, the city achieved a GDP of 212.52 billion yuan ($29.52 billion) in 2023, reflecting a growth rate of 6.8 percent. Furthermore, the added value of its large-scale industries saw an increase of 7.8 percent.
Quzhou also completed 11 projects aimed at improving residents' well-being last year.
Zhang also outlined the overarching goals for this year's government work, emphasizing the city's commitment to achieving breakthroughs in economic development, high-level openness, scientific and technological innovation, rural revitalization, improvements to the well-being of citizens, and enhancement of social governance.
