Quzhou launches folk activities to strengthen ethnic unity

Jucun township, Qujiang district, Quzhou, Zhejiang province held a series of folk activities on April 21 primarily themed around the culture of the She ethnic group.

These activities featured traditional art performances, including folk music and waist drum displays, as well as exhibitions of intangible cultural heritage such as bamboo weaving, white porcelain crafting, paper-cutting, and sugar painting.

As a settlement for the She ethnic group, the township has been actively utilizing its unique cultural heritage to develop its tourism industry, contributing to broader rural vitalization efforts in recent years.

Zhang Chaoxiong, head of the united front work department of the CPC Quzhou committee, emphasized the significance of these events in enriching the cultural life of all ethnic groups, preserving traditional customs, and fostering harmonious coexistence among different ethnicities.
