Nestled in Huangtang village, Changshan county, Quzhou, Zhejiang province, construction of the Yuan'ao traditional Chinese medicine wellness base is in full swing.
Perched atop a mountain at an elevation of 620 meters, the TCM wellness facility is designed to integrate health retreats, rehabilitation, educational research, and agritourism, noted a representative of the base.
Spanning 2,000 mu (approximately 333 hectares), the wellness base aims to create a comprehensive TCM landscape system featuring six functional areas, including a visitor reception hall, a health and wellness resort area, a medicinal herb planting and research area, and a wellness agricultural demonstration area.
Inside the reception hall, visitors will find large-scale specimens of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, enormous paintings made from Chinese herbal slices, and a TCM wellness library housing a collection of over 2,000 books.
The base also features a herbal garden brimming with a wide variety of medicinal plants and plans to develop a pomelo orchard, a wellness center, a medicinal cuisine restaurant, mountain-top villas, and a camping site as part of its health and wellness tourism offerings.
In addition, the facility boasts a 1,000-mu oil-tea camellia plantation. Trial operations are expected to begin in October.
