Quzhou in Zhejiang province is ramping up efforts to leverage its clear waters to create more open water swimming venues.
Authorities have implemented a raft of measures, including making swimming areas more child-friendly, enhancing service mechanisms of "safe water" facilities, and innovating drowning prevention education methods. These efforts aim to create a safe water platform and transform swimming in nature into a safe and enjoyable experience.
This initiative aims to transform Quzhou's picturesque mountains and waters into a natural playground where children can swim freely and securely, noted a local official.
The city has finished constructing six open water swimming sites. It plans to develop an additional 12 sites, offering a secure and dependable water platform for more children.
A resident surnamed Qian expressed, "With these waterside platforms, I feel confident taking my children swimming in the river near our home." He eagerly anticipates exploring the thrill of swimming outdoors in various open water locations this year.
