Quzhou in Zhejiang province recently released its first judicial protection order for its ancient city wall site.

The order prohibits activities such as demolition, damage, occupation, carving, and defacement of ancient bricks, walls, and trees within the ancient city area.

It also bans the construction, expansion, or addition of any temporary or permanent structures within the protected area of the ancient city.

The primary goal of the order is to broaden the judicial protection of cultural relics, enhance the collaboration between cultural heritage protection departments, law enforcement, and judicial bodies, and promote the preservation of Quzhou's historical and cultural heritage, according to authorities.
