Quzhou's Kelite Group aims to become industry leader
Workers at China Kelite Group Co are operating various machinery, measuring, polishing, drilling, and assembling components in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, on Aug 5.
Speaking of the company's flagship product, Kelite's chief engineer Zou Xingge recalled the journey.
In 2015, Kelite ventured into the subsea-sealed pipeline ball valve market, a field where key technologies and market share were dominated by developed countries. To overcome this challenge, the company committed to independent research and development.
This path took six years. By 2021, Kelite developed a domestically-produced subsea-sealed ball valve capable of replacing imported products. The valve now holds one utility model patent and two invention patents, securing a 21.52 percent share of the domestic market, ranking second nationwide.
Currently, Kelite's products have also gained international recognition, exporting to Europe, the Americas, Australia, and Southeast Asia, with a 1.5 percent global market share.
The group has become a long-term partner of major firms like PetroChina and Sinopec. The company has also formed a strategic alliance with Zhejiang Lenor Flow Control Technology Co, a leading valve industry company.
