Quzhou's GDP rises 6.4 percent in 2024

The GDP of Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province reached 226.28 billion yuan ($31.24 billion) in 2024, representing a year-on-year increase of 6.4 percent, according to the Quzhou municipal bureau of statistics.

The primary industry, which includes agriculture, saw an increase in value of 9.58 billion yuan, growing by 3.1 percent. The secondary industry, encompassing manufacturing and construction, contributed 92.37 billion yuan, with a significant growth of 8.8 percent. Meanwhile, the tertiary industry, or service sector, reached 124.33 billion yuan, growing by 4.8 percent.

Fixed asset investment in Quzhou grew by 9.4 percent year-on-year. In terms of key fields, investment in ecological and environmental protection, transportation, energy and water conservancy saw an increase of 28.5 percent. Investment in high-tech industries surged by 17.8 percent and manufacturing investment increased by 8.3 percent.

In 2024, total retail sales of consumer goods reached 101.98 billion yuan, reflecting a 5.0 percent increase on the previous year. Online retail sales showed rapid growth, with e-commerce sales by units above a designated size reaching 12 billion yuan, growing by 28.6 percent.

The per capita disposable income of urban residents in Quzhou increased to 63,556 yuan, marking 4.9-percent year-on-year growth. The per capita disposable income of rural residents rose to 36,204 yuan, growing by 6.5 percent.

The income gap between urban and rural residents narrowed, with the urban-to-rural income ratio decreasing to 1.76, down by 0.03 from the previous year.
