At Zhejiang Wanglin Bio-Tech Co's health-care food production workshop, the machinery roars into life as spore powder – having undergone processes like crushing, sporoderm breaking, the removal of impurities and sterilization – is packaged.

Based in Jiangshan, a county-level city in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, Wanglin Bio-Tech has continued to refine its ultra-fine grinding and sporoderm-breaking technology in recent years.

Last year, the company invested over 5 million yuan ($691,476) to add new health-care food and special dietary production lines. This year, it's launched a new product – sporoderm-broken Ganoderma lucidum spore powder – by fully utilizing and integrating Jiangshan's rich offerings in traditional Chinese medicinal herbs.

The company also continues to consolidate its market position with its flagship products, focusing on the research and production of plant-based carbon black and related products. To do so, it has established collaborations with institutions like Zhejiang University and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.

In 2024, the company generated total revenue of 40 million yuan.

Jiang Jiaqi, deputy general manager of Wanglin Bio-Tech, said that in recent years its annual R&D investment has accounted for more than 12 percent of total revenue.
