Enjoy cultural extravaganza in Quzhou during May Day
During the five-day May Day holiday, a cultural extravaganza is set to be staged at the Quzhou Ancient City Cultural Tourism Zone in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, presenting an evocative journey through history.
The ancient city is set to come alive with various performances that will portray the cultural charms of the Song Dynasty (960 – 1279), including music, opera, traditional dance, and band performances — all integrating the essence of Song culture with modern tourism.
On the evening of May 1, the zone will host a Song culture-themed parade, recreating the splendors of the era, with opportunities for visitors to interact and take photos with performers.

On May 1-3, the "Starlight Wharf Concerts" at the Quzhou Ancient City Cultural Tourism Zone will be held. These concerts seek to pair the romance of the traditional Song Dynasty music with modern live music.
On May 2-4, the ancient stage in the zone will feature intangible cultural heritage performances, like Xi'an Gaoqiang — a traditional form of opera in Quzhou.
For a unique perspective, visitors can also enjoy day and night boat tours on Xin'an Lake.
What's more, the art museum at Quzhou's Tianwang Tower will offer a special experience of hanfu, the traditional Chinese attire.
