Quzhou's swimming star Yu shines at National Swimming Championships
Yu Yiting, a native of Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province, has made a splash at the 2025 National Swimming Championships held from May 17 to 24 in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, clinching three gold medals in just two days.
The championships serve as a qualifier for the 15th National Games and the 2025 Singapore World Championships, saw Yu shine brightly.
On the evening of May 18, Yu showcased her prowess by winning two golds in a single night, adding to her victory in the 4×100m freestyle relay on May 17.
In the highly anticipated women's 100m butterfly final, Yu faced off against Zhang Yufei, a leading figure in Chinese butterfly swimming. Despite Zhang's late surge, Yu secured victory with a narrow 0.09-second lead, finishing at 57.30 seconds.

Yu continued her winning streak in the women's 200m individual medley, finishing first with a time of 2 min 8.67 sec.
Born in 2005, Yu has evolved from a budding talent into a formidable competitor, taking part in seven events in the championships. Her grueling schedule included five races on the first day alone, showcasing her resilience and dedication.
As a versatile rising star in Chinese swimming, Yu aims to further elevate her performance at the upcoming National Games, demonstrating her potential across multiple disciplines.
