Quzhou expands tax refund services for overseas travelers
A batch of stores at the Oriental Mall in Kecheng district, Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province have been approved to become in-store tax refund merchants.
As a result, these stores can provide "immediate tax refund upon purchase" services for overseas shoppers.
Zhejiang Quzhou Oriental Group signed an "instant tax refund" cooperation agreement with China Zheshang Bank Quzhou Branch and the UnionPay Quzhou Business Unit. Officials from the Quzhou municipal tax bureau provided a detailed overview of the policy's features.

The service follows a recent departure tax refund policy update by the Ministry of Commerce and other departments, aimed at promoting "immediate tax refund upon purchase" services across the country to enhance shopping convenience for overseas tourists.
The updated policy allows overseas tourists to enjoy in-store tax refund services in designated stores, reduces the minimum purchase threshold for tax refunds from 500 yuan to 200 yuan ($69 to $27), and eases registration requirements for in-store tax refund merchants.
To implement the updated departure tax refund policy, the Quzhou municipal tax bureau has collaborated with the city's culture and tourism bureau, commerce bureau, and other departments to guide companies through the qualifications process.
