Quzhou launches cultural events to promote rural tourism
The city of Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province launched its 2025 "Fun Countryside" series on May 28 — a cultural brand initiative featuring six themed events and a raft of rural festivals running from May to November.
Each district and county in Quzhou will host its own themed event, promoting rural tourism across the city.

The first event "Fun Kecheng: Run in Ancient City" will take place over the Dragon Boat Festival holiday in Kecheng district. Participants will enjoy a 3.5-kilometer family-friendly run along its scenic routes. Families can enjoy fun challenges, collect interesting medals, and receive nifty gifts on completing the run.
The "Fun Qujiang: Compete for Village Champion" event features jump rope contests, tug-of-war, and dance competitions in Qujiang district, inviting all visitors to join locals in enjoying fun sports together.
The "Fun Longyou: Race on the Water" event offers thrilling dragon boat races and intangible cultural heritage performances in Longyou county.
Meanwhile, the "Fun Jiangshan: Sing Folk Songs" event invites visitors and locals to a rural music festival in Jiangshan, a county-level city in Quzhou.
The "Fun Changshan: Savor Spicy Delights" event is a culinary contest celebrating local flavors in Changshan county.
If that's not enough, the "Fun Kaihua: Savor Stir-fried River Snails" event includes a culinary challenge and various cultural events in Kaihua county.
