U19 international basketball challenge tips off in Quzhou
The 2025 U19 Men's International Basketball Challenge will be held at the Qujiang Gymnasium in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, from June 13 to 15.
China's U19 national team will host elite youth squads from Egypt, Germany, and the United States. Two matches are scheduled daily at 4 pm and 7:30 pm, for a total of six.
This marks Quzhou's first international basketball event of 2025. Following the tournament, the Chinese team will travel to Switzerland to compete in the FIBA U19 World Cup. A send-off ceremony will be held in the city on June 13.
To welcome fans, ticket holders can enjoy free admission to 12 scenic spots across Qujiang district from June 10 to 17.
Quzhou is fast emerging as a rising sports hub. In 2024, events like the Paul George China Tour attracted 32,000 in-person attendees and over 1 billion online views.
Momentum continues in 2025. In addition to this week's challenge, the city has planned a streetball league tied to another NBA star tour and is actively bidding to host a 2026 FIBA World Cup qualifier at its new 10,000-seat arena.
