The 2025 MaXi-Race China Jiangshan 100, an international trail running event, will be held from Oct 18 to 19 in Jiangshan, a county-level city of Quzhou in Zhejiang province.

Originating in France, the MaXi-Race is recognized as a premier global trail running brand. Its first China race took place in Jiangshan in 2016, establishing a long-term partnership between the city and the international event.

The route integrates bamboo forests, tea fields, valleys, cliffs, and streams, offering diverse natural scenery that keeps runners engaged while easing the fatigue of long-distance running.

More than 90 percent of the course consists of unpaved surfaces — including bluestone paths, gravel sections, and cliffside trails — demanding constant rhythm and technique adjustments from runners and testing their endurance and adaptability.

This year's event features four categories: 105 kilometers, 60 kilometers, 30 kilometers, and 8 kilometers. It is expected to attract about 3,000 participants from around the world, including nearly 50 international runners and many elite athletes from China and abroad.

Zhou Xuejun, director of the municipal sports bureau, said the city plans to continue expanding its outdoor sports offerings by introducing more national events, such as youth outdoor challenges and open-water swimming competitions, to encourage fitness and promote Jiangshan as a premier destination for outdoor recreation.
