Malaysian students explore Quzhou's drumming traditions, Confucian culture
A two-day cultural exchange event titled "Connecting Through Friendship: Resonating Drumbeats" kicked off on Oct 20 in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, welcoming 32 students and teachers from SJK(C) Jit Sin A Primary School in Malaysia.
The event aimed to foster meaningful connections and friendships through on-site visits, cultural exchanges, and interactive experiences, strengthening the cultural and educational ties between China and Malaysia.
The highlight was the Drum Culture Dialogue activity, held at Lixian Primary School's auditorium in Quzhou's Kecheng district. The event began with a captivating performance by Lixian's drum team, followed by an energetic display from SJK(C) Jit Sin A Primary School's drum team.

"Drumming with our Chinese peers felt like communicating in a new language," said Huang Jiayu, a member of SJK(C) Jit Sin A Primary School's drum team.
Following the performances, representatives exchanged banners and culturally significant gifts, then visited the Kecheng District Cultural Center to explore Quzhou's drumming traditions.

Beyond drumming, the Malaysian visitors embarked on a cultural exploration of Quzhou, visiting the Shuiting Gate and the Family Temple of Confucius in Quzhou, immersing themselves in Confucian culture.
"This visit deepened our students' understanding of Confucian culture," said Chen Ziling, vice-principal of SJK(C) Jit Sin A Primary School, highlighting the profound impact of experiencing cultural legacy firsthand.
