Two promotional conferences for the 25th China Yiwu International Commodities Fair (Yiwu Fair) were held simultaneously in Panama and Yiwu, Zhejiang province on July 25.
Government officials, entrepreneurs, and other honored guests from the two sides connected with each other through video chat to better prepare for the long expected fair.
The conferences were meant to invite more participants from Central and South America to Yiwu Fair, as well as helping Panamanian merchants learn more about the city.
In addition to watching videos showcasing Yiwu's development and hospitality, the attendees also shared opinions on how to further their trade and friendship.
The 2019 Yiwu Fair is set to run from Oct 21 to 25, serving as an international platform for small commodities, cross-border e-commerce, and trade-in services.
Over recent years, Yiwu and Panama are forging a sound economic and trade partnership. Yiwu's exports to Panama in 2018 were valued at about 1.16 billion yuan ($168.3 million), up 11.25 percent year-on-year.
