Popular TV series to star expats in Yiwu

A new season of the award-winning TV drama Feather Flies to the Sky will tell the stories of foreign entrepreneurs in Yiwu, the international small commodity trade hub in Zhejiang province, local media reported on Sept 16.
The first season explored how Yiwu-born merchants started from the bottom and made a fortune with their creativity and perseverance, showcasing Yiwu's rapid development over the past 40 years of reform and opening-up.
Yiwu is the world's largest distribution center for small commodities and plays an important role in China's Belt and Road Initiative.
Now, more than 15,000 foreigners from over 100 countries and regions live in Yiwu. About 550,000 foreigners also visit and make purchases in Yiwu each year, according to data released by the city government.
The new episodes, which will begin shooting in 2020 and hit the screen in 2022, will star the foreigners living in Yiwu, with focuses on their career, business, love life, and their day to day life in the city.
Feather Flies to the Sky claimed various national and provincial awards, enjoying popularity at home and abroad. The drama series was translated into eight languages, including English, French, Russian, Portuguese, Korean, and Indonesian. It is aired in over 40 countries and regions.
