In 2018, Xiuhu Middle School and Choujiang Middle School combined to found an education group consisting of Chengyang campus and Choujiang campus.

Located northwest of Xiuhu Square, Yiwu city, the 6.7-hectare Chengyang campus was once Choucheng Town Middle School, which was founded in 1969 and renamed Yiwu Xiuhu Middle School in 2003. Founded in August 2004, the Choujiang campus was made up of the original Choujiang Middle School, Guantang Junior High School, Jiangwan Junior High School and the junior section of Economic Development Area School.

The teachers at Xiuhu Middle School are actively participating in writing scientific research theses. More than 100 thesis items have been published in journals above provincial level annually. In addition, the school has also cooperated on educational research subjects with many universities, such as Zhejiang University, East China Normal University and Beijing Normal University, and has gained fruitful results in recent years.
