"Street chief" from Columbia
Fabio, a Columbian, has been appointed as the "street chief" of Chengxin Road in Yiwu city, Zhejiang province.
Futian community in Yiwu invited eight citizens to serve as "street chiefs", to assist the community's administration. Three foreign managers are expected to help communicate with foreign merchants living in Futian, as these street chiefs assist the comprehensive administrative enforcement members in maintaining street appearance and environment.
Owning two restaurants, Fabio has lived in China for over 10 years and can speak fluent Chinese. The environment, transport conditions and illegal advertisements are his key work as a street chief.
"Yiwu is my second home," said Fabio. "I gain a sense of belonging in participating with city administration. It is an honor to be appointed as a street chief."
