Danxi monascus alcohol is the color of amber and tastes mellow. Drinking it is good for your health. 

There are three types of the drink: Danxi Red, Dingchen and Baizi. Yiwu County Annals record that people living in Chi'an village would withdraw water from Danxi River in winter and brew an alcoholic drink with it. This kind of alcohol was called Danxi Red.

The brewing skill of Danxi monascus alcohol which is well preserved from ancient times comprises three steps: preparation, brewing and storing. The skill is an important part of Chinese traditional alcohol culture.
