The pharmacy was founded in 1988 and was given its current name in 1996. It is famous for herb processing techniques which were created by Chen Wujiu during the period of the Republic of China. 

The pharmacy is committed to carrying forward traditional herb processing techniques by setting up a health center and a research institute featuring traditional Chinese medicine. There is also an exhibition hall to demonstrate these techniques. It also arranges seminars to protect and promote its medical knowledge and techniques.
