Innovation and entrepreneurship season underway in Yiwu

Yiwu in East China's Zhejiang province, known as a hub of small commodities trade, started its annual citywide innovation and entrepreneurship season on Aug 17.
Aimed at integrating resources and improving business climate to encourage startups and promote employment, a total of 55 activities such as a startup competition, a job fair, seminars, matchmaking meetings and training sessions will be organized in Yiwu both online and offline. The industries of fashion, internet, e-commerce, science and technology, and finance will be highlighted.
Zhao Jianming, director of the city's human resources and social security administration, said Yiwu has been ramping up efforts to improve the environment for innovative work and startups in recent years and has achieved substantial progress.
"We will keep improving services and the business climate in Yiwu in the future in hopes of attracting more entrepreneurs and helping them realize their dreams," said the official.
Zhang Aizhen, a professor at Zhejiang University and president of the Human Resources Association of Zhejiang Province, said she will support the talent work in Yiwu as always and help the city introduce more professionals, teams and innovative projects.
