Community teaches expats Chinese

Jimingshan Community in Yiwu, East China's Zhejiang province, began offering a Chinese language and culture training course for more than 30 expats in Yiwu on Sept 21.
Jimingshan Community is home to more than 1,300 foreigners. During the COVID-19 outbreak, the community was recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the collaborative efforts of its Chinese and foreign residents to combat the epidemic.
Since 2018, the Yiwu foreign affairs office has been delivering lectures on international trade, legal services, and healthcare for expats in an effort to help them better understand the city of Yiwu and adapt to life in the city.
Guo Jianling, vice-dean of the School of International Culture and Education at Zhejiang Normal University, was invited to lecture on Chinese learning tips.
Guo used to serve as the Chinese dean of the Confucius Institute at Mondlane University and is experienced in teaching Chinese to foreigners.

The Yiwu library donated around 70 books in a variety of foreign languages to the Jimingshan Community library on the sidelines of the lecture.
Since 2014, the Jimingshan Community has offered Chinese language and culture training to more than 70,000 expats.
