Yiwu to build country's first digital comprehensive bonded zone
Yiwu in East China's Zhejiang province will build China's first digital comprehensive bonded zone, according to an announcement made during a presentation held as part of the 2020 World Yiwu Entrepreneurs Conference on Sept 29.
Zhang Chao, vice-mayor of Yiwu, gave an overview to attendees of the city's social and economic growth in recent years. He invited businessmen and Yiwu people living all over the world to share in the city's opportunities.
Representatives also discussed the city's comprehensive bonded zone, export market, and favorable policies for attracting businessmen and trade services.
The Yiwu Comprehensive Bonded Zone was approved to be set up by the State Council in March 2020.
The bonded zone is deepening cooperation with the Electronic World Trade Platform (eWTP) to explore new management modes featuring the integrated use of digital technology.
The Yiwu Comprehensive Bonded Zone plans to team up with other domestic bonded zones to build a nationwide distribution network for import commodities.
Yiwu will also continue to improve its transportation network to improve its competitive edge in logistics.
The city will also encourage its 2 million small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to establish business links with buyers, producers, and trade agents from over 200 countries and regions around the world.
