World Yiwu Entrepreneurs Conference begins in Yiwu

The 2020 World Yiwu Entrepreneurs Conference began at the Yiwu World International Conference Center in Yiwu, East China's Zhejiang province on Sept 29.
The conference brought together 350 entrepreneurs and business operators who have close links with the Yiwu trade market.
The opening ceremony of the conference featured a session in which foreign business delegates expressed their wishes via video that the Yiwu trade market will continue to develop rapidly.
At the conference, the Yiwu government announced 10 major plans to improve the trade market, including building a fast channel for international purchases, improving its logistics network and developing a new-type import market.
Since the beginning of this year, Yiwu has attracted 1.6 million people to the city, a record high. Around 2,800 college students chose to work in the city upon graduation this year.
The city also recorded 113,000 new market entities this year, bringing the total number to 650,000.
From January to August, the city's exports stood at 192.5 billion yuan ($28.36 billion), a year-on-year increase of 3.7 percent, while imports totaled 7.64 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24 percent.
Sales of commodities via livestreaming commerce channels in Yiwu this year accounted for nearly 5 percent of the national total, while the number of express deliveries handled accounted for 8 percent of the total.
During the conference, 32 projects were signed in the city, involving 44.63 billion yuan in investment.
