The Yiwu Belt and Road International Forum for Young Scientists was held in Yiwu, Zhejiang province from Nov 21 to 23, attracting over 400 scholars from 22 countries and regions.

Guests from Columbia University, Oxford University, LMU Munich, and other institutions discussed artificial intelligence, 3D printing, and Yiwu's environment for business and academic research.

The forum was jointly organized by the municipal government of Yiwu and China Jiliang University (CJU) in an effort to increase the city's appeal to overseas talent.

Yiwu, a city in Zhejiang province known for manufacturing and exporting small commodities, is expecting more talent from home and abroad to help accelerate its development into a global business city.

The CJU College of Modern Science and Technology, located in Yiwu, was co-built by the city government and CJU in 1999. The university is currently working with 46 overseas institutions and will enroll over 2,000 students in postgraduate programs by 2024
