A girl from Yiwu in Zhejiang province who went missing 13 years ago has finally returned home with the help of local police, according to a recent report.

The woman, whose assumed name is Xiao Hui, ran away from her home in 2007 due to clinical depression.

Over the past 13 years, Xiao Hui's parents have searched for their daughter using every means possible, but to no avail.

Recently, the Choucheng police station received a call saying that a female vagrant wandering the streets may need help.

When the policeman arrived, they found that the woman was unwilling to talk and only revealed bits and pieces about her identity.

Li Xianggui, one of the police officers, stitched together what he could about the woman's identity and managed to track down her parents.

Zhang, the woman's mother, said that Xiao Hui used to be a strong student but fell into a depression after she lost a class monitor election. After that, Xiao Hui would often leave home unexpectedly.

Xiao Hui's parents have contacted doctors to help treat her in hopes of restoring her life to normal.
