Yiwu, a commercial city in East China's Zhejiang province and home to the world's largest small commodity market has grown into a comprehensive tourist destination where visitors can not only buy things, but also enjoy local food, admire breathtaking views, and experience its ancient culture.

The city boasts a number of large markets dedicated to different kinds of consumer products. The Yiwu Agricultural Products Trade Market, with an annual turnover of over 1 billion yuan ($144.96 million), includes wholesale and retail markets that supply snacks, drinks, fruits, and vegetables.

The Huangyuan clothing market, located in Xiuhu Square, one of the busiest parts of the city, offers a huge variety of men's and women's wear, shoes, bags, and ornaments.

The 100,000-square-meter Yiwu China Imported Commodities Mall, which was established in 2008 and moved to International Trade Market Area 5 in 2011, has nearly 90,000 kinds of products from over 100 countries and regions, including wine, jewels, and cosmetics.

Yiwu is also a scenic city with beautiful natural landscapes. The Wangdao Forest Park, Yiwu Botanical Garden, and Senshan Healthy Town are among the most popular places for sightseeing and outdoor activities.

A total of 1,111 petrified trees, which are actually fossils from millions of centuries ago, have been moved there from all over the globe and planted in Senshan Healthy Town.

The ancient villages and streets of Yiwu, including Fotang Old Street and Chouyan village, feature many wooden buildings and ancient halls. A pendant light hanging in front of one of the halls, believed to be made more than 400 years ago during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), is more than three meters tall and made of over 1.2 million glass beads.

To provide a better experience for visitors, the Yiwu bureau of culture and tourism has also decided to promote 10 unique local dishes, including Yiwu ramen and chicken stew. Be sure to try them when you visit!
