Yiwu's small commodity was listed as one of the top 10 industrial clusters on Taobao, an e-commerce platform of Alibaba, according to a list released by Taobao on Jan 4.

Other industrial clusters appearing on the list included the small excavators produced in Jining, Shandong province and river snail rice noodles in Liuzhou, Guangxi province.

In August of last year, Yiwu small commodities were all included on Taobao. During last year's November 11 Shopping Festival, the total volume of Yiwu commodities traded online was 20 times larger than that in 2019.

Fang Hao, an executive of Yiwu Zexi Daily Articles Co, said that 1 million products the company prepared for the shopping festival was sold out in the first round of deals offered for it.

"A type of customized lint roller was one of the hottest-sale products, with more than 200,000 of the product sold," Fang added.

In the first quarter of 2020, Zexi lost a trade order worth 10 million yuan ($1.54 billion) from an overseas business partner. During the second and third quarter of the year, Zexi generated 40 million yuan in sales on Taobao to make up the loss.
