The Yiwu administration of economy and information technology recently conducted a production survey among 496 Yiwu-based manufacturers of 17 industrial sectors, including photoelectricity, textile, underwear, daily necessities, accessories, artware, packing material, and bags and suitcases.

More than 60 percent of the surveyed companies have to deliver products on full schedule up until April in order to fulfill the purchase orders they have already received by far. More than 20 percent of them have to do so even till the end of June.

According to local media reports, many manufacturers are operating in full gear, with their managers optimistic of the market prospects this year.

The workshops of Zhejiang Mingmeng Textile Technology Co have been running at full capacity since last April, when the COVID-19 epidemic's impact on the textile and garment industry started to diminish.

According to the general manager Li Xiaoge, the company's products are mostly sold in overseas markets such as Britain, Japan, and Canada. Despite the adverse effects of the pandemic, the company's sales volume last year was on a par with that in 2019.

This year has seen a steady growth of purchase orders from both home and abroad, which would fill up the company's production schedule until the end of the first half of the year, said Li.

"I am confident that this year's corporate revenue will rise by at least 15 percent," Li added.
