Zhejiang releases five-year plan for transportation development
Zhejiang province in East China recently released a plan for the comprehensive development of transportation during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), which includes building a smooth, efficient, advanced, safe, ecofriendly, and intelligent transportation system by 2025.
According to the plan, Zhejiang will invest 2 trillion yuan ($309 billion) in the transportation sector over the next five years, with 400 billion yuan for railways, 880 billion yuan for highways, 102 billion yuan for waterways, and 75 billion yuan for civil airports.
By 2025, a "one-hour traffic circle" connecting districts and cities throughout the province will be basically completed.
Zhejiang also aims to achieve faster delivery of goods, which will make it possible for goods to be delivered within two days between China and neighboring countries, within three days between major domestic cities, within two hours between cities in Zhejiang, and within three hours between cities in the Yangtze River Delta region.
