Yiwu sees two milestone events for FTZ development
Zhejiang authorities announced the 10 milestone events that took place over the past two months in the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone at a news conference on July 30.
Two of the 10 events occurred in Yiwu, a county-level city which is often dubbed "the world's supermarket" as it is home to the world's largest wholesale market of small commodities.
On July 1, a freight train (service number: X9018) loaded with 100 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) of cargos departed from Yiwu West Station for Kyrghyzstan and Uzbekistan, marking the launch of the "China-Kyrghyzstan-Uzbekistan" highway-railway combined freight transport in the Yangtze River Delta region.
China's first bill of lading for property rights was also signed and issued to the freight train service. This was a milestone event that marked Yiwu's expansion of trade routes and the growing presence of made-in-China products in the global market.
On June 1, Yiwu authorities established an international business law service center, an unprecedented move by a county-level government in China. The center will offer legal services such as dispute resolution, arbitration, and authentication for international commerce affairs.
