Yiwu in East China's Zhejiang province has authorized COVID-19 shots for 3 to 11-year-old children, local media reported on Oct 23.
The recent resurgence of COVID-19, which has hit 11 provincial regions and has lead to at least 106 infections in 13 tour groups, is believed to have been caused by an imported case, health officials revealed on Oct 24.
The municipal government has required locals and expats to wear masks, wash hands regularly, and keep social distance.
Foreign nationals in Yiwu can make the appointment through the employer, and their employer will collect all the information and book for its employees with the local health department.
Self-employed foreign nationals can make the appointment through their residential community offices, and the latter will book with the local health department. They can also book the vaccination appointment directly with the local designated hospitals.
The children should stay on site for 30 minutes after vaccination and leave only after confirming there are no adverse reactions.
After returning home, parents should pay attention to the children's conditions. If the children experience adverse health conditions, parents should report to the site of vaccination and seek medical treatment immediately.
The few days following vaccination, children should eat a healthier and lighter diet, have good rests, and avoid excessive exercises and fatigue.
