Yiwu authorities recently published a series of statistical figures on the city's marriage registrations in 2021.

A total of 5,409 couples tied the knot in Yiwu last year, down 253 couples from the year before.

The males and females were on average 31.8 and 29.8 years old respectively when they got married in Yiwu last year. The corresponding figures in 2020 were 32.4 and 30.2 years.

Around 43 percent of those who got married in 2021 were aged between 25 and 29.

A total of 1,404 couples got divorced in Yiwu in 2021, down 537 couples from the year before. The significant drop was largely attributed to the nation's implementation of a 30-day cool-off period for mutually agreed divorces starting from Jan 1, 2021.

Among these divorced couples, 117 couples had been married for less than on year, 236 couples had been married for two to three years, and 310 couples had been married for six to nine years.

The males and females were respectively 40.6 and 37.6 years old on average when they got divorced in Yiwu last year.
