Foreign trade thrives in Yiwu
The Yiwu supervision center for cross-border express delivery, run by Yiwu International Landport Group, handled $52.85 million worth of parcels exported via the Business To Customer (B2C) model and 203-million-yuan ($32.11 million) worth of parcels imported via the digital customs clearance model in 2021, according to a local media outlet.
The total number and value of the parcels exported in the B2C model through the center increased by 26.68 percent and 72.03 percent year-on-year last year, respectively. The exports went through customs checks carried out in the center's automated streamlines before being loaded onto container trucks near the center, which will then ship them to airports or railway ports to leave the country. It takes no more than 20 days for European and American consumers who have placed online orders to receive these exports departing from Yiwu.
The total number and value of the parcels imported via the digital customs clearance model through the center last year were both the highest among all such centers of its kind across China.
The types of products being handled in the center has so far surpassed 100,000.
