Yiwu secures first 3A hospital
The Health Commission of Zhejiang Province recently announced that the Yiwu-based Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (ZJU4H) has been upgraded to a 3A comprehensive hospital following the commission's assessment.
ZJU4H was founded on Oct 31, 2014 as the result of cooperation between Zhejiang University and the Yiwu municipal government.
The hospital currently employs 113 physicians and surgeons who are supervisors of graduate students, and 83 percent of its staff hold at least a master's degree.
The hospital has been stepping up recruitment of high-profile talent in recent years. In 2021, one chair professor of the Cheung Kong Scholars Program, 14 researchers recognized by the Hundred-Talent Program, and six postdoctoral researchers were recruited by the hospital.
The hospital received 1.85 million visitors to its outpatient department and performed 24,500 surgeries in 2021.
It specializes in lung tumors, reproductive medicine, aortic dissection, orthopedics, surgery, brain treatment, and trauma emergency.
