Yiwu among top 10 Chinese counties by GDP in 2021

Yiwu in East China's Zhejiang province was named among the top 10 counties in the country in terms of GDP growth rate in 2021.
The top 10 counties were Kunshan, Jiangyin, Zhangjiagang, Jinjiang, Changshu, Cixi, Yixing, Changsha, Shenmu and Yiwu.
In recent years, Yiwu has been focusing on high-quality development. Led by digital reform, the city has accelerated urban and industrial transformation and development of the world's small commodity capital.
In 2021, Yiwu's GDP increased by 11.6 percent year-on-year to 173 billion yuan ($27.15 billion), ranking first among the province's top 17 counties and cities.
It's total imports and exports in 2021 were valued at 390.31 billion yuan, an increase of 24.7 percent annually. Foreign trade exports increased by 21.7 percent year-on-year, faster than 17 provinces in the country. Total imports increased by 95.3 percent yearly.
With the rapid development of e-commerce, in 2021 the city's online retail sales reached 218.79 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.6 percent and ranking first among all counties, cities, and districts in Zhejiang province. Deliveries in Yiwu were up 29.5 percent annually, reaching 9.29 billion in 2021, second only to Guangzhou.
As of Feb 23, the number of registered market entities in Yiwu exceeded 800,000, a year-on-year increase of 14.22 percent, ranking first among county-level cities in Zhejiang province.
