Yiwu villages to pilot construction of 'future village'

Five administrative villages in Yiwu were included on the second list of "future villages" to be created in Zhejiang province, according to a recent announcement from the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
The five villages are Longtouzhu village in Yiting town, Lizu village in Houzhai subdistrict, Fenshuitang village in Chengxi subdistrict, Hongqi village in Dachen town and Shentan village in Chi'an town.
According to the "Guiding Opinions of the General Office of the People's Government of Zhejiang Province on the Development of Future Rural Construction", the term "future village" refers to a village focusing on humanism, ecology, and digitization and featuring a rich local culture and nostalgic atmosphere.
Efforts will be made to build a new rural community that features futuristic elements and highlights the charm of the Jiangnan area by integrating future industries, health, low carbon emissions, and digital living.
Gangyao village, which was included in the first batch of 100 villages to pilot the construction of a future village, has completed preparations for the first draft of the overall plan and the construction of various smart service platforms.
