Yiwu live broadcast base wins provincial title

The Yiwu Meilianhui live broadcast base was listed as one of 26 provincial-level live broadcast e-commerce bases in Zhejiang province in 2021, according to a recent announcement from the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce.
The Yiwu Meilianhui live broadcast base is home to various video platforms, MCNs, original design studios and other institutions related to the industry. It is expected to build a digital live broadcast economic ecosystem that integrates exhibitions, brand promotion, live broadcast training and operational guidance.
In recent years, Yiwu has been making efforts to create a sustainable new live broadcast ecosystem relying on the development of the digital economy.
The city introduced action plans and supporting policies in 2020, and a total of 15 live-streaming e-commerce bases and the first live-streaming e-commerce college in China have been built in Yiwu. The city also released the country's first set of national live e-commerce vocational training materials.
In 2021, a total of 240,000 live e-commerce broadcasts were carried out in Yiwu, with retail sales totaling 32.49 billion yuan ($5.04 billion), a year-on-year increase of 56.2 percent.
Yiwu is currently home to more than 70 live broadcast service agencies cooperating with over 3,000 internet celebrities and hosts. More than 80,000 people are working in the city in live broadcast training and content production.
