Local enterprises in Zhangjia village, Yiting town, Yiwu recently helped local mulberry farmers deal with the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic.

According to locals, mulberries are currently in harvest in Zhangjia village, and over eight hectares of mulberry farms can produce about 30 tons of fruit. However, in light of the epidemic, a lot of fruit is going unsold.

As the fresh fruit is unable to be preserved for long, fruit picked that day will go bad if it can't be sold immediately. The government appealed to local enterprises and residents to help buy fruit at a favorable price on April 25.

As soon as the announcement was made, over 10 enterprises bought over 1,800 kilograms of fresh mulberries that day.

Local farmers were especially grateful to these enterprises and the local government for their timely help.

They also invited people to visit their mulberry gardens and try picking the fruit on their own while enjoying natural views in the village when after things return to normal. Picking season lasts until the end of May.
