From January to March this year, Yiwu Customs supervised about 6.3 billion yuan ($937 million) in solar cells and other products exported by local enterprises involved in the photovoltaic industry, a more than three-fold increase over the same period last year, according to local media outlets.

Trina Solar (Yiwu) Technology Co exported 2.37 billion yuan in products in the first quarter of 2022, a year-on-year increase of 256.9 percent.

Ma Xiao'an, the company's director of customs affairs, said that although the company's logistics and raw materials were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 epidemic, Yiwu Customs has kept them up to date on the latest export-related policies.

According to Yiwu Customs, the policies of major countries and regions for exporting photovoltaic products have changed frequently this year, including in the United States, the EU and India. Yiwu Customs collected relevant industry policy changes and informed enterprises in a timely manner to help them formulate response plans.

Yiwu Customs issued 205 Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership certificates of origin in the first quarter of 2022, which is expected to reduce tariffs by more than 18 million yuan for local enterprises.

Yiwu Customs has formulated a plan to help local enterprises obtain Authorized Economic Operator certifications and has worked to build a trade safety management system in the Suxi Photovoltaic Industrial Park.
