Yiwu had held a series of online exhibitions in the past months this year, including the Frame Art Exhibition, Beauty Expo, and Hardware Fair, attracting a total of 5,540 participants.
The events were visited 16.81 million times, generating an estimated 150 million yuan ($21.38 million) in transactions.
Holding online exhibitions is not only an important measure for promoting market prosperity, but also an essential way to promote the integration of online and offline exhibitions and trade.
According to participants, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a loss in sales, turning many people to online markets. Such exhibitions reduce risks caused by crowds and save on venue and manpower costs. Working with bloggers can also help consumers learn more about a company's brand.
The municipal government plans to introduce relevant policies and help organizers build online exhibition platforms to promote the exchange of products among enterprises.
"We will do everything possible to introduce policies that benefit enterprises and drive market development, so that enterprises can make more money and the market will become stronger," said a spokesperson for the market development committee.
