Yiwu helps ease burden on cross-border e-commerce enterprises
Yiwu in East China's Zhejiang province worked with Alibaba.com to launch 12 measures on May 23 to help ease the burden on cross-border e-commerce enterprises brought about by the COVID-19 epidemic.
The 12 measures included guarantees in terms of logistics, finance, talent and services.
In addition, online promotion events such as a "30-day arrival guarantee" event and digital exhibitions of products will be launched to promote online merchants in over 10 countries in Europe, as well as the United States.
Furthermore, a total of 8,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit containers will be added for sea transport and over 20,000 railway lines will provide support for seven major ports in terms of customs declaration services.
Alibaba.com will also provide upgraded logistics and payment services for cross-border small- and medium-sized enterprises.
Merchants on Alibaba.com that are unable to ship products due to COVID-19 will not have their store's credit rating lowered.
The "Cross-border E-commerce College Talent Training Program" will also be upgraded to cooperate with 2,000 colleges and universities throughout the country, aiming to train one million talents for the cross-border e-commerce industry.
In addition, special supporting measures will be provided for Yiwu-based cross-border e-commerce enterprises to reduce their financial stress. Up to 80 percent of financial support will be given to enterprises that apply for overseas certification, overseas trademark registration, and overseas patents.
The top 10 enterprises in terms of online transaction volume of cross-border B2B exports in the Yiwu Special Zone will receive up to 50,000 yuan ($7,498.18) per company per year, covering 50 percent of the platform service fee.
